Notes on Nina Mae Starcher Boatright

Nina Mae Starcher was born December 27, 1926 to Allen B. and Icie Starcher.

She married Claude L. "Pete" Boatright in Barberton, Summit County Ohio November 2, 1946. Pete, the son of Gay and Ona Boatright, was born in Calhoun County October 23, 1923. 1924.

Pete died August 15, 2002.

Nina died December 15, 2010.

Obituary of Pete Boatright from the Calhoun Chronicle

Claude L. "Pete" Boatright, 78, of Norton, Ohio, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002.

He was born in Grantsville, the son of the late Gay and Ona Gainer Boatright. He graduated from Calhoun County High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a gunner's mate. He retired from Ohio Brass with 40 years service as a millwright. He was a member of Sherman Church of Christ where he was an Elder Emeritus.

Surviving are his wife, Nina Mae Starcher Boatright; three sons, Claude "Larry" Boatright and Dennis Paul Boatright, both of Barberton, Ohio, and Lonnie Joe Boatright of Canal Fulton, Ohio; one daughter, Luann Smith of Loganville, Ga.; five grandchildren; five brothers, Calvin Boatright of Grantsville, James Boatright of Manchester, Ohio, Odel Boatright of Barberton and Roy Boatright and Jack Boatright, both of Norton; and one sister, Paula Price of Barberton.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Vickie Lynn Boatright. Services were held at Sherman Church of Christ, Norton, with William Stone officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery.

Nina Mae Boatright, 83, passed away December 15, 2010.

She was born on December 27, 1926, in Millstone, W. Va., daughter of late Allen and Icy Starcher. She was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and quilting. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and was actively involved in their lives. She retired from S.S. Kresges Corporation and was an active member of Sherman Church of Christ for 58 years.

Her family and friends all feel extremely blessed to have had her in their lives.

She was preceded in death by husband, Claud L. "Pete" Boatright; and by daughter, Vickie Lynn Boatright. She is survived by her three sons and daughter; Claud "Larry" (Stephanie) Boatright of Barberton, Lonnie Joe Boatright of Canal Fulton, Dennis Paul (Traci) Boatright of Monroe, Ga. and Luann (Kenneth) Smith of Monroe, Ga. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Kristy, Nicole, Ben, Kaitlyn and Josh; and two great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Logan.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 20,2010 at Cox Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave. in Barberton, Rev. Dave Dahlsteins officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
