Allen B. Starcher was a business caller in Grantsville Monday.

Lovell Allen and Rex Maffet butchered two hogs for Ferris Barr, Wednesday.

H.M. Maffet was visiting Henry Marks and family Wednesday.

Allen B. Starcher was Wednesday night guest of his son, Victor Starcher and family of Sistersville.

Mrs. Murl Price was visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz, Thursday.

Several folks attended the Christmas program at our school Thursday night and enjoyed a very nice program by the pupils.

Mrs. Vena Marks, Allen b. Starcher and Lovell Allen were in Grantsville Saturday.

Robert Nitz of the U.S. Army and Gene Nitz of Barberton arrived here last Saturday night to visit their grandfather, Allen B. Starcher. They are sons of Mr. and Mrs. Greely Nitz.

Mr. and Mrs. Vere Price and son were visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz, Sunday.

Allen B. Starcher and Lovell Allen were calling in Spencer Sunday evening.

Robert Nitz was visiting his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz, Tuesday morning.

Mr. and Mrs. Russell Nester and sons of Calbin Ridge were visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Nester Wednesday.

Robert and Gene Nitz left for Sistersville Wednesday to visit their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Starcher and daughters, also Mr. and Mrs. Denver Starcher of Middlebourne.

Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Queen and Miss Gae Parsons of Cleveland arrived here Friday morning to visit their mother, Mrs Anna Parsons.

Rex Maffett of Barberton spent the week end with his wife.

Henry Marks spent the week end at his home here. He is employed at the present time at a timber job beyond Spencer.

Mrs. Murl Price and son, Loren were calling on her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz Friday.

Those shopping in Grantsville Saturday were Mrs. Vena Marks, Allen B. Starcher, Lovell Allen, Bud Burch and Coy Rader.

Mrs. Paula Gainer gave a stork shower for Mrs. Justine Miller at the home of Allen B. Starcher Saturday night.

Roy Nester of Cabin Ridge was visiting his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Nester Sunday.

H.M. Maffett was visiting at the home of Henry Marks Monday afternoon.

Allen B. Starcher was visiting his daughter, Mrs. Corley Miller of Phillips Run Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz were business callers in Spencer Wednesday.

We were indeed sorry to hear of the death of Harley Rowh. His family has our deepest sympathy.

Mrs. Vena Marks and Allen B. Starcher were shopping in town Saturday.

Allen B. Starcher purchased a nice young bull from Cleo Gainer of Upper Pine Creek Saturday afternoon.

Gene Starcher of Arnoldsburg was calling on Basil Brown Saturday. Mr. Brown lives on Mr. Starcher's farm here.

Mr. and Mrs. Corley Miller are announcing the birth of a daughter, born February 15. The young lady weighed 8 pounds. Allen B. Starcher is maternal grandfather. Mr. and Mrs. Grover Miller of Shock are paternal grandparents.

Miss Sylvia Mitchell was calling on Mrs. Laura Nitz, Wednesday.

Donald Parsons was assessing folks in our community Wednesday.

Ray McCoy and Bob Nitz of the Army were visiting their grandfather, Allen B. Starcher, Wednesday.

Donald Vanhorn, teacher of our school took the school children out on hike Thursday. Mr. Vanhorn is to be inducted into the Army March 12.

Feris Barr and Allen B. Starcher were in Spencer Friday.

Those shopping in Grantsville Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Rex Maffet, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Wood and boys, Forest Craddock and son, Ilene Allen, Mrs. Vena Marks, Lovell Allen and Allen B. Starcher and son, Melvin.

Mrs. Erma Craddock entered a Parkersburg hospital one day this past week for a operation. We hope she will soon be home and feeling good again.

Allen B. Starcher was calling on his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Corley Miller of Phillips Run, Sunday.

Several folks of this community have influenza, Mrs. Basil Brown has been ill about three week of influenza, but is better at this writing.

Henry Marks and family have all been ill of the flu this week.

H.M. Maffett is 80 years young and getting younger all the time. He was out helping Dee Nitz saw post timber Thursday.

Those attending to business in Spencer Friday were Ferris Barr, Basil Brown, Allen B. Starcher, Dee Nitz and Vere Pice.

Bud Burch. Lovell Allen and Allen B. Starcher were shopping in Grantsville Saturday.

The men of this community have been building a new telephone line this week.

Woodrow Carpenter and son Jacky of Clinton, Ohio have spent a week here visiting relatives.

Several boys went up to the Log Cabin Park Sunday to practice playing softball.

H.M. Maffett, Leonard Booher, Wesley Nester and Paul Sturm were butchering hogs for Mr. and Mrs. Frank Burns Monday.

Mrs. Golda Maffet was visiting her mother, Mrs. Laura Nitz, Monday afternoon.

Mrs. Clifford Bailey took her son to Parkersburg Monday to have his tonsils removed.

Henry Marks and Allen B. Starcher were planting potatoes Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Vere Price and son, Loren, were visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz Wednesday.

Mrs. Roscoe Carpenter and father, Rex Maffett of Barberton spent the week end here and Mrs. Maffet and granddaughters, Judy and Janet returned to Barberton with them to spend a week visiting.

There were several folks watching T.V. at Holly Nester's store Wednesday.

Haven Roberts and Lawrence Hall were working on the gas and oil well on Rex Maffet's farm Wednesday and Thursday.

Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz were calling in Spencer Friday.

Folks shopping in Grantsville Saturday were Mrs. Vena Marks, Allen B. Starcher, Rex Maffet, A.M. Nester, Cecil Mitchell, Orville Miller and Russell Sampson.

Allen B. Starcher was a Saturday night guest of his son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Starcher of Sistersville.

Mrs. Gorda Maffett and granddaughters, Judy and James returned home Friday night from Barberton where they had spent two weeks vacation. They were accompanied home by Rex Maffet and Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Carpenter, who spent the week end here.

Russell Nester and son Roy were repairing the telephone line Tuesday afternoon.

Allen B. Starcher was a Thursday evening guest of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Marks.

Mr. and Mrs. Vere Price and son Loren were visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz Friday.

Allen B. Starcher took a calf to the livestock sale Friday.

Allen B. Starcher and Billy Burch took Billy's aunt, Mrs. Delta Wilson, to her home in Dunbar Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fernandez of Charleston, S.C., are the proud parents of a baby daughter who arrived July 11. She has been named Rebecca Ann and weighed seven pounds and two ounces. Mrs. Fernandez is the former Miss Opal Maffett. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Maffett and grand-daughter of H.M. Maffett.

Mr. and Mrs. Greely Nitz and son Glendon of Barberton, O., arrived here Saturday to spend the week end with her father, Allen B. Starcher and his parents who were celebrating their golden wedding anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz. We want to offer congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Nitz and we hope they have many more happy anniversaries together.

Folks shopping and attending to business in town Saturday were Mrs. Hattie Booher and son, Donald, Mrs. Velma Wood and sons, Ronald and Roger, Mrs. Vena Marks, James and Jerry Reed, Allen B. Starcher, Ferris Barr, Mr. and Mrs. Pratt Barr and daughters, Kathleen and Gretchen, and Mr. and Mrs. Vere Price and son.

Ray McCoy of the U.S. Army is visiting his grandfather Allen B. Starcher and his other relatives. He reports he will be sent to Germany when he returns to his company after his furlough.

Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Starcher of Barberton, O., arrived here Saturday to visit his father Allen B. Starcher. Mr. and Mrs. Corley Miller and daughter, Sharon, of Phillips Run were also visiting her father Saturday night.

Several folks was watching television at Holly Nester's store Saturday night.

Mrs. Delta Wilson and Allen B. Starcher were married in a quiet ceremony at his home here Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. Leroy Miller minister of the Church of Christ performed the ceremony. Mrs. Justine Miller was the matron of honor, and Roy Wilson served Mr. Starcher as best man. A reception was held following the wedding at which time the bride and bridegroom cut the first slice of their beautiful wedding cake, which was baked by Mrs. Bud Burch. The cake was served to the guests who were; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wilson and two children of Dunbar, Mr. and Mrs. Corley Miller and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Burch and family, Denver Starcher of Middlebourne, Lovel Allen, H.M. Maffet, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Gainer and 2 children, Becky Summers, Leroy Miller, and Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher.

Dee Nitz was calling in Spencer Friday.

Mrs. Rose Stemple and children were calling on his grandfather H.M. Maffet Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Marks and Roger Paul were calling on Mrs. Basil Brown and family Sunday.

Flint Stockwell of Richwood, was calling on H.M. Maffet Sunday.

Mrs. Carrie Reed and son, were visiting Mrs. Ferris Barr Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Corley Miller and daughter, Mrs. Delta Wilson and Allen B. Starcher were visiting Mr. and Mrs. Victor Starcher and family is Sistersville Tuesday.

Mrs. Bud Burch and daughter, Mrs. Delta Wilson and Allen B. Starcher was attending to business in Spencer, Tuesday.

A large crowd gathered Saturday night and serenaded Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wilson and children of Dunbar, were last Saturday night guests of his mother and step father, Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher.

Corley Miller and Allen B. Starcher assisted Henry Marks in butchering a hog Monday.

Carrie Reed is visiting his wife and children at this writing. He is employed at the White Motor company in Cleveland.

Guy Wood butchered a hog Wednesday.

Those helping Bud Burch to butcher three hogs Thursday were H.M. Maffet, Cecil Mitchell, Orville Miller, Charley Burch, Billy Summers, and MR. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher who were visiting Mr. and Mrs. Burch Thursday.

Mr. and Mrs. Vere Price and son Loren were calling on her parents Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz Friday.

Allen B. Starcher took four head of cattle to the live stock sale in Spencer Friday for Mrs. Florida Whytsell.

Mr. and Mrs Claude Boatright and son, Larry, of Barberton, O., arrived here Friday night to spend the wek end with her step-mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher and other relatives.

H. M. Maffet helped Everett Starcher butcher a beef Monday.

Allen B. Starcher butchered a beef Tuesday and a hog Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher were visiting his son and family of Sistersville, Thursday. Mr. Starcher purchased a freezer and a washing machine from his son.

Henry Marks returned home Thursday evening from Zanesville, O., where he was employed for a few days .

Folks shopping in town Saturday from our community were Mr . and Mrs. Cray Duelly, Mrs. Vena Marks and Allen B. Starcher.

Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Harris and Virgil Marks and Allen B. Starcher were all visiting Mr. and Mrs. Henry Marks Sunday.
