Christmas guests of Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher were their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Carpenter and children of Sycamore, Mr. and Mrs. Greely Nitz and children of Sinking Springs and Miss Justine Starcher of Barberton, Ohio.

Mr. and Mrs. Victor Starcher and daughters and Mr. and Mrs. Denver Starcher, all of Sistersville, were Sunday guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher.

Lenore Starcher was visiting her brother and family Monday, Mr. and Mrs. Evert Starcher of Sinking Springs.

Rex Maffet and father, H.M. Maffet butchered a hog for Mrs. Laura Nitz of Cabin Ridge Tuesday.

Guy Wood and H.M. Maffet were shopping at Minney's service station on the Mt. Zion ridge Wednesday.

Lenore Starcher and daughter, Geraldine, were business callers on Mrs. Henry Marks Wednesday.

Mrs. Opal Booher and son Jack are visiting in Barberton, Ohio, at this time.'

Allen Nitz was the Wednesday night guest of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher .

Paul Starcher and Allen Nitz were calling at Russell Nester's Thursday.

Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher were shopping in Grantsville Saturday.

Mrs. Anna Parsons received word this past week that her daughter, Mrs. Viola Queen, is seriously ill in Cleveland hospital.

Mr. And Mrs. Carrie Reed and children Jerry, Larry, and Brookzene and Judith Marie, were visiting with H.M. Maffet New Years day.

Mrs. Laura Nitz was Sunday guest of her son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Maffet.

H.M. Maffett was calling on Brooks Grove Monday.

Virgil Marks was visiting his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Marks, Tuesday evening.

Alfred Marks of Millstone was in this vicinity Thursday.

Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz were shopping in Spencer Friday.

Miss Myrte Marks spent the week end with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Marks.

Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher were business callers in Grantsville Saturday.

Mrs. Orma Nester spent Saturday night with her husband's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Nester. Mrs Nester has been ill. We hope she will feel better soon.

Mr. and Mrs. Othel Starcher and daughter, Patty of Barberton, Ohio, arrived here Friday to visit her foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Nester and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. French Starcher of Arnoldsburg.

Mrs. Ferris Barr was visiting with Mrs. A.M. Nester Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. French Starcher of Arnoldsburg were visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Marks and Mrs. Anna Parsons Sunday.

Mrs. Laura Nitz was Saturday night gest of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Maffet.

Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Starcher and Miss Justine Starcher of Barberton arrived here last Saturday to spend the week end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs Allen B. Starcher.

Mrs. Mina Marks and two daughters, Mrs. Vina Harris and Myrtle, were Sunday guests of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Marks.

Mrs Opal Nitz went to Barberton Monday to enter a hospital.

H.M. Maffet was a business caller on Clyde Allen Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher were business visitors in Spencer Tuesday.

The revival meeting closed at the Stony Point church Tuesday night. Lots of souls were saved. There will be a baptizing Sunday, Marcher 13.

Roma Wood was in this vicinity Thursday.

Allen B. Starcher was in Spencer Friday.

Virgil and Verdis Marks were visiting their brother, Henry Marks, Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz were shopping in Spencer Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. starcher and grandchildren, Gene, Norma, Donald and Johnney Nitz were shopping in Grantsville Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Vere Price and son, Loren, were calling on her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz Sunday.

Allen Starcher and Henry Marks were at the Russel Keith farm on the West Fork, Monday.

Lovel Allen and Guy Wood have been building fence for Mrs. Grace Barr this week.

Paul Leach has been working in timber with his team for his brother, Orville Leach.

Allen Starcher and daughter, Justine were business callers in Grantsville Thursday.

Rex Maffett was calling on Luther Booher Thursday evening.

Mrs. Opal Booher and son, Jack, H.M. Maffet and Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz were all in Spencer Friday.

Dave Poling of Millstone was calling on H.M. Maffett Sunday.

Some folks of this community have been attending the revival meeting at Sandridge.

Word was received here this week that T.A. Wood and family home burned. They reside on Bear Fork. We are sorry to hear of their misfortune.

Mr. an Mrs Dee Nitz were shopping in Spencer Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Carpenter and James Nester of Barberton arrived here Saturday morning to spend the week end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Res Maffett and Mrs. and Mrs. Russell Nester of Cabin Ridge.

Gene, Donald and Johnny Nitz spent Saturday night with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz.

Mr. and Mrs. Vere Price and baby, Loren, of Altizer were visiting with Mrs. Price's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz Thursday.

Allen B. Starcher and daughter Justine, were in Grantsville Thursday.

Dee Nitz, H.M. Maffett, Luther Booher and Ralph Miller were attending the Livestock sale in Spencer Friday.

Mrs. Mary Nitz was visiting her daughter, Mrs. Muriel Price of Altizer Friday.

Mrs. Opal Nitz returned from Barberton Friday. She had been in a hospital there.

Luther Booher and Ralph Miller were at Sandridge Saturday where Mr. Booher purchased a team of horses from Kenneth Hall.

Paula McCoy, Jimmy and Jackie Carpenter of Sycamore were Saturday night visitors of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher .

Miss Justine Starcher returned to her job in Barberton Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Vere Price and son were visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz, Tuesday.

H.M. Maffet was shopping at Roy Morgan's store Tuesday.

Dr. Boling of Grantsville was called to see Mrs. Dee Nitz this week.

Mr. and Mrs. Foster Nitz were calling on his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz Thursday.

Hazel Leach, Paul Leacfh, Dee Nitz, H.M. Maffet and son, Rex and Luther Booher were all business visitors in Spencer Friday. Rex Maffet purchased a horse at the livestock sale.

Little Miss Judy Carpenter broke her leg at school Friday. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Carpenter were called home from Akron.

Mr. and Mrs. Meelvin Starcher returned here Friday from Akron.

Allen B. Starcher was attending a stock sale in Spencer Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher and daughter Justine were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Starcher and family of Sistersville.

Mrs. Willie Barr and daughter Erless were visiting Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Nester Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Starcher and H.M. Maffet were Sunday evening callers on Mr. and Mrs. Henry Marks.

Not many folks around here attended the bond election Monday as they are so busy with farm work.

Luther Booher was helping H.M. Maffet get his corn planted Wednesday.

Allen B. Starcher and son Melvin and daughter Justine and Guy Wood were business callers in Grantsville Wednesday.

Several folks gathered at the school here Friday and enjoyed a fine dinner with the teacher, Mrs. Lenore Everson and children, it being the last day of school.

Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz were shopping in Spencer Friday.

We are sorry to hear of the death of Fae Bailey. A few folks attended his funeral at Mt. Zion Friday from here.

Ferris Barr purchased two pigs from Allen B. Starcher Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Rex Maffett was visiting with her mother Mrs. Laura Nitz of Cabin Ridge Sunday.

Roma Wood was calling on his brother Guy Wood and family Sunday.

Carr Gunn and son Pete were visiting in this vicinity Monday evening.

Several men of this vicinity were working on the telephone line this week.

Mrs. Mina Marks and daughter Mrs. Golda Nichols and son Paul Dewayne and Martle Marks were visiting Mr. and Mrs. Henry Marks Monday.

Mrs. Icie Starcher went to Parkersburg Monday to enter the St. Joseph hospital. She was accompanied there by Mr. and Mrs. Victor Starcher and Miss Justine Starcher.

Mr. and Mrs. Vere Price were calling on her parents Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz.

Miss Gae Parsons went to stay with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Waldeck of Reedy Tuesday.

Allen B. Starcher went to Parkersburg to be with his wife who underwent a major operation Wednesday at the St. Joseph's hospital. She is reported getting along nicely.

Clyde Allen mowed some hay for Rex Maffett Thursday.

Edward Mullins and stepfather A. J. Hughes of Idamay were business callers in our vicinity Friday.

Allen B. Starcher took two yearlings to the Spencer livestock sale for Ferris Barr Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz were pleasant callers in Spencer Friday.

Mrs. Bud Burch and small children were calling on Mrs. Maud Nester Saturday.

Allen B. Starcher and grandson Jimmy Carpenter and Mrs. Henry Marks were shopping in Grantsville Saturday.

Allen B. Starcher and daughters Mrs. Opal Nitz and Mrs. Beulah Carpenter were visiting Mr. Starcher's wife in the St. Joseph's hospital in Parkersburg Sunday and reported Mrs. Starcher as getting along fine.

H.M. Maffett was at the Log Cabin park Sunday to see some radio stars.

Henry Marks was helping Ray McCoy in hay harvest Monday.

Rex Maffett was working in hay harvest Tuesday evening. Melvin Starcher was helping.

Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz were visiting their son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Vere Price Tuesday.

Mrs . Woodrow Carpenter and family were visiting her father Allen B. Starcher Tuesday.

Allen B. Starcher and daughter Justine and son Melvin were business callers in town Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Rogers and his brother Randolph all of Michigan were visiting her grandfather, H.M. Maffett Thursday. Mrs. Rogers is the former Miss Ruth Maffett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Maffet.

Mr. an Mrs. Claude L. Boatright and son Larry of Barberton arrived here Friday night to visit their relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz were shopping in Spencer Friday.

Allen B. Starcfher and grandson Gene Nitz were in Spencer Fridayh.

Roger Paul Parsons, small nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Marks was ill this week.

Pratt Barr is spending his vacation from his job in Akron with his family here at this time.

Mr. and Mrs. Greely Nitz and family and Mr. and Mrs. Vere Price and son were visiting Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz Sunday.

Mrs. Allen B. Starcher returned home Monday from the St. Joseph hospital in Parkersburg and is getting along very nicely at this time.

Miss Retha Maffet of Barberton , O., arrived here Tuesday to visit her father H.M. Maffett and other relatives and friends.

Allen B. Starcher and son Melvin were business shoppers in Spencer Tuesday.

H.M. Maffett was shopping at Roy Morgan's store Wednesday.

Mrs. Woodrow Carpenter and family were visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher Wednesday evening.

Allen B. Starcher and son-in-law Claude Boatright were attending the livestock sale in Spencer Friday. Mr. Starcher sold two nice heifers.

Pratt Barr moved his family to Akron Sunday. We are sorry to lose these good people, but hope they will be very happy in their new home.

Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz had as their guests Sunday their son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs Vere Price of Altizer.

Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Carpenter and family of Sycamore were visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Rex Maffett were visiting her mother Mrs. Laura Nitz of Cabin Ridge Sunday.

School started here Monday with Mrs. Lenore Everson as teacher. We wish them a successful and happy term of school.

There was a very nice crowd attending the singing given by the county singers Sunday at the Stoney Point church.

The Stoney Point church has been holding a singing school for the past few night and will continue until Friday night.

Mrs. Rex Maffett has been ill with pneumonia fever this week but is better at this time.

Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Carpenter was called from Barberton Tuesday due to the illness of her mother Mrs. Rex Maffet.

Those attending to business in Grantsville Wednesday from here were Mrs. Velma Wood, Allen B. Starcher and daughter Justine and son Melvin.

H.M. Maffet was visiting his son Rex Wednesday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz were shopping in Spencer Friday.

Allen B. Starcher sold a fine bull at the sale in Spencer Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Maffet and daughters Jean and Glen and a neighbor girl of Little Hocking, O., spent a few days visiting Mr. and Mrs. T.W. Everson and H.M. Maffet.

Miss Justine Starcher and Miss Paula McCoy were business visitors in Parkersburg one day this past week.

Mrs. Icie Starcher returned home from Barberton last Saturday where she had spent two weeks visiting her children. She was accompanied home by her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Starcher.

Mr. and Mrs. Rex Maffet were visiting his father H.M. Maffet Sunday.

Mrs. Ferris Bar was visiting Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Nester Sunday afternoon.

Allen B. Starcher and Henry Marks were business callers at Minnora Monday.

Wesley Nester butchered three nice hogs Tuesday. He was assisted by Rex Maffet, H.M. Maffet and Russell Nester.

Mr. and Mrs. Denver Starcher of Sistersville were calling on his parents Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher.

Those butchering hogs Thursday were Bud Burch, Lester Booher and Guy Wood.

Mr. and Mrs. Vere Price and son Loren were visiting with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz Friday.

Dee Nitz and Allen B. Starcher were both calling in Spencer Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Foster Nitz and daughter have been visiting his parents Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz.

Allen B. Starcher and daughter Justine were shopping in Grantsville Saturday.

Allen B. Starcher and Ed Starcher left Sunday for Preston county to deer hunt.

H.M. Maffet and son Rex attended the singing at the St. Paul church Sunday.

Mrs. Icie Starcher and daughter Justine were Sunday dinner guests of her daughter and family Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Carpenter of Sycamore.

Mr. and Mrs Victor Starcher of Sistersville were Sunday evening visitors of his mother Mrs. Icie Starcher.

Melvin Starcher was ill Monday night. Dr. Boling was called to see him.

H.M. Maffet, Rex Maffet , Wesley Nester and Leonard Booher butchered two hogs for Mr. and Mrs. Frank Burns Tuesday. Mr. Burns remains ill and we hope he will feel better real soon.

Carrie Reed butchered a hog Friday and was assisted by H.M. Maffet and Casto Hardway.

Ferris Barr was shopping at Roy Morgan's store one day this week.

Mrs. Allen B. Starcher and daughter Justine were guests one day this week of her son and family Mr. and Mrs Victor Starcher of Sistersville.

Allen B. Starcher and daughter Justine and his grandson Jimmy Carpenter were business visitors in Spencer Friday.
