Miss Myrtle Marks of Sandridge was Saturday night guest of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Marks.

H.M. Maffett and Henry Marks was shopping at Roy Morgans store, Saturday.

Roy McCoy, Robert Nitz and Allen Nitz was all visiting their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher Sunday.

Those shopping in Grantsville Monday from here were Mrs. Lester Booher, Mrs. Anna Parsons and Mrs. Vana Marks.

H.M. Maffett butchered a beef for Homer Sampson and Ed Grim of Roane Co. Monday.

Mrs. Opal Booher was shopping at Roy Morgans store, Monday.

Royce Fowler was in this vicinity Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher and daughter, Justine were shopping in Spencer Tuesday.

Mrs. Greely Nitz and children were visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher Thursday.

Ferris Barr was shopping at Roy Morgans store Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher were shopping in Grantsville Saturday.

Cecil Mitchell was a visitor in Arnoldsburg Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Carpenter and family of Sycamore were visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher.

Mr. and Mrs. Rex Maffett were called from Barberton Monday by the death of her father, Guy Nitz. We were very sorry to hear of his death.

H.M. Mafett and Harold Allen were among the folks shopping at Roy Morgan's store Tuesday.

Dee Nitz was a business visitor in Spencer Friday.

Alfred Marks of Millstone was calling at his brother's home and also at H.M. Maffett's Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher were shopping in Grantsville Saturday.

H.M. Maffett was shopping at Roy Morgan's store Saturday.

A large tree fell Friday night near H.M. Maffett's residence and caused some damage to the telephone line and also to Mr. Maffett's mail box.

Verdis Marks was visiting his sister-in-law, Mrs. Henry Marks, Saturday.

Susie and Ray Nester were calling on their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Nester, Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Carpenter and family and Mrs. Opal Nitz and children were all visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher Sunday.

T.V. Everson was taken to a hospital in Parkersburg Sunday. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Mrs. Anna Parsons and Mrs. Henry Marks were visiting with Mrs. Allen Starcher Monday.

The County Agent was treating some horses for bots at Altizer Tuesday.

H.M. Maffet was visiting Frank Burns Wednesday.

Mrs. Henry Marks and Mrs. Anna Parsons were shopping in Grantsville Thursday. Others from around here that were in Grantsville Thursday were Allen B. Starcher and French Starcher and Russel Nester of Cabin ridge.

Dee Nitz was calling on H.M. Maffet Thursday.

Mr. and Mrs. Vere Price were visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz, Sunday.

Mrs. Esther Gibson of Altizer was the Saturday night guest of her daughter, Mrs. Grace Barr.

Delbert Starcher of Barberton arrived here Saturday night to spend the week end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs Allen B. Starcher.

Mr. and Mrs. Vere Price of Altizer were visitors of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz. Mrs. Nitz has been ill this past week. We wish her a speedy recovery.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Nitz and son were visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz Wednesday.

H.M. Maffet was at Russell Nester's Thursday getting a horse shod.

Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher were business callers in Spencer Friday.

Mr. And Mrs. Dee Nitz were shoppers in Spencer Friday.

Carr Gunn started his new job off with a bang by doing some badly needed work on our road here. We are expecting butter roads in our vicinity soon.

Norma Murl and Gene Nitz were Friday night guests of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher. Mrs. and Mrs. Starcher, Norma Murl and Gene and Mrs. Vena Marks were shopping in Grantsville Saturday.

Luther Booher arrived here Friday evening to visit his son, Jackie. Mr. and Mrs. Booher operates a restaurant on Barberton.

Mr. and Mrs. Vere Price were visitors Sunday of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz.

Carrie Reed was calling on H.M. Maffet Sunday and also Gilbert Blake.

Henry Marks was doing some plowing for Greel Nitz Monday and Thursday.

French Starcher was a business visitor of H.M. Maffet's Monday.

Carl Nitz has been helping is father with farm work this past week. Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz have both been ill but are better at this time.

H.M. Maffet spent a few days this week guest of his son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Maffet , of Little Hocking, Ohio.

The state was doing some badly needed work on our roads here Saturday and the road needs a lot more work on it. We apppreciate what work was done.

H.M. Maffett was visiting with Mr. and Mrs. T.W. Everson, Sunday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nitz were shopping in Spencer, Friday.

John Everson was calling on his niece, Mrs. Allen B. Starcher, Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Guy Wood and son arrived here Saturday morning from Barberton, Ohio, to spend the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Booher.

H.M. Maffett arrived home Saturday morning from Barberton, Ohio, where he has spent the past three weeks visiting his son Rex and family, and also his daughter, Mrs. Retha Maffett.

Joyce and Roy Nester were at H.M. Maffett's Saturday.

Mrs. Grace Barr was shopping at Roy Morgan's store Saturday and also visiting her mother, Mrs. Esther Gibson.

James Nester and Jack Webb were calling on Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Nester one evening this past week.

We received a much needed rain in our vicinity Friiday. Some water wells were almost dry.

Paul Leach reported his water well is dry.

Farmers in this vicinity are very busy at this time getting potatoes gathered and cutting corn and working in hay harvest.

H.M. Maffett went to Barberton, Ohio, where he took treatment for eczema for four weeks but is not much improved.

Cleo and Leo Everson twin sons of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Everson were visiting with H.M. Maffett Sunday.

Russell Nester and son, James, were guests Sunday at his parents home, Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Nester.

Pratt Barr of Akron spent several days here visiting his wife and daughters.

Denver Starcher and sister Justine were visiting their parents Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher over the week end. They are both employed at Sistersville.

Little Miss Brookzene Reed was visiting Mrs. Macel Hall Sunday.

A group of women met at the Stoney Point church Monday and cleaned the church. They were Mrs. Willa Barr, Lenora Starcher, Mrs. Hattie Booher, Mrs. Opal Booher, Mrs. Nellie Reed, Mrs. Esther Gibson and Miss Veda Blake. There is Sunday School every Sunday at 10 o'clock and prayer service Wednesday night of each week. Everyone is welcome to come and bring some one with them.

Allen B. Starcher was mowing some meadows for Woodrow Carpenter of Sycamore, Monday and Mrs. Starcher was visiting with her daughter, Mrs. Carpenter.
